Check it out!

So I finished another project for my second semester and I've uploaded it on the links below.  I had to find a series of images from the 1940's, 50's, and 60's and make comparisons to fashion today. They are all seperate PDF documents so there are 5 links below.  The last two you will see are self explanatory.

I handed it in 2 days ago and got my mark back already!! 98% which brought my final grade in Fashion History to 95%.

I started my third semester on Monday and, as always, I really like it.  The classes are below:

Fashion Awareness -  The study of current designers and their contributions to fashion.  Also to be able to recognize and identify their style and clothing.

Fashion Merchandising - not too sure what this course is about yet.  So far, it's just a review of a lot of the material I learnt in Marketing last semester.  I did however, learn all about the Industrial Revolution in the 1700's and it was pretty interesting.

Career and Resume Prep

Fashion Show Production - Learning the in's and out's to coordinating a successfull runway show.

Advertising - my first class begins next Wednesday.

Anyhow, let me know how you like the projects above.  I'm very proud of it.

Dear Diary

Oh hey there friends!

When I was a kid I had a billion different diaries.  I would write and write and then get bored and months later realize it's been forever since I'd written.  So then would write for pages and pages to catch up on the absent 4 months.  Then my hand would hurt and the writing would be messy so I'd start a brand new diary because I hated the messiness.  (Actually, a lot of the time I would start a new diary because the old one just talked about boys - Joe Something or Other in Grade 7, Travis Wilson, Robert Downey Jr., AJ Mclean from the Backstreet Boys, etc ... - anyhow I would always feel so silly mushing and gushing over these guys that I would start a new diary to start fresh and more mature.  It was like the old me just dissapeared with each new journal; it never worked though. I moved onto Jordie Edmonds, Mel Gibson, that guy from the free McDonalds VHS Christian movie, and Pierre Lauzon) What was I saying? Oh ya.  I was comparing my blog tendancies to that of my old diary tendancies.

I haven't updated my blog lately because I got bored of writing.  Now the idea of sitting down and catching you up on what's happened over the past few months is absolutley daunting that I've decided to just give snipets as I see fit.  Sound good? Okay then.

Vegas was rad!  We stayed at Treasure Island and met some party host that screwed us over in many ways .... so much so that I called Visa and disputed the $175 in charges for several services promised but not provided.  I got my money back in the end. BUT, he did get us into a pool party one day where we lounged and drank and swam the whole afternoon.  And we were able to meet some nice girls from Toronto who were also on a Stagette.  A few nights later, bummed that we weren't VIP at a certain night club we were promised by that shotty party host, we ran into those Toronto girls.  They had VIP at a different club so asked us to come along. We got in (no line, no cover, and free drinks to boot ) and had an excellent time.  At that first pool party though, the bride and the maid of honour had some bad sushi and were out of commission the rest of the trip.  It was pretty much just me and Sierra partying until dawn most nights.  It would have been nice to have the whole group feeling awesome and dancing the nights away, but I had a fabulous time none the less.

OUTLETS!!!! Steve Maddens and Swarovski Crystal Earrings were my only purchases but hey, I'd pick quality over quantity any day.

So ever since Vegas, I kind of mentally checked out of school.  I stopped working on my final projects and didn't study for exams until the night before each one.  You see, after Vegas we had a "Fare Thee Well Montana Martini Monday Fort Night."  We essentially built a fort that encompassed the entire living room.  It was suspended from the ceiling and everthing.  We drank in it that first night but then me and the new roomie decided to leave it up for a week so that we could have random naps in it.  Well, all of a sudden it was hockey playoffs and I had a rotation of visitors come and stay with me.  Kristen and Jeff, Brent Davies and Kevin, Neil Kader, Montana and Maneesh, Kristen and Jeff again .... we put an air matress in the fort and used it as a spare bedroom.  So with this epic living room getaway, hockey, and visitors, my priorities suddenly got all messed up and that's the reason being my "checking out".  Don't worry, after the riots I finally got my act together and studied hard and worked on my projects and I think the end result was fabulous.  I got an A in both Visual Merchandising and Illustration and feel confident about the exams in Marketing, Textiles, and History.  Also, feel free to read my final marketing project by clicking on the link below.

So speaking of riots ... that was nuts hey?  I went down there just to observe the mob mentally.  It was so bizarre and culturally shocking that I just HAD to be a fly on the wall.  I stayed safe, didn't loot, and just took a few pics.  It was wierd .... as people were jumping on cars and lighting things on fire, a surprising amount of people came up to me (I was wearing flip flops) and said "hey there! watch your feet! ... broken glass, be carefull"    Haha, it was so wierd!!! Individuals may have gotten carried away with the mob mentality but they're still Canadians and deep down, rather kind.
